Thanksgiving Day NFL Picks

Packers vs. Lions:

Matt Flynn returns to the Packers to face a familiar foe.  He will enjoy the opportunity to fill the seat of Aaron Rodgers, at least for this week against the Lions.  Flynn set a Packer record throwing for nearly 500 yards two years ago against the Lions.  His performance garnered a free agent courting that eventually landed him in Seattle with the big contract.  Seahawk rookie sensation, Russell Wilson, had other plans and Flynn became expendable this year.  He took his talents to Oakland and then to Buffalo, and in both situations, he could not find the magic and comfort level he had as Rodgers' backup in Green Bay.  Now, with his 3rd team of the 2013 season, Flynn will lead the Packers today to face the daunting task of Mega-tron,  Ndamukong Suh and Nick Fairley in the traditional Thanksgiving day game in Detroit.  Flynn will not strike magic again against the Lions.  Matthew Stafford and the Lions will prove to have the "Turkey Day" answers and best the Packers.

Welker to the Broncos & Amendola to the Patriots Well, Tom Brady restructures his contract to provide cap space for the Patriots to resign Wes Welker.  All indications were that Brady would keep his go to WR now that the money space was available.  How free agency can change.  Belichick has always operated as if players other than Brady were moving parts.  He has for the most part been right on the moves he has made.  Losing Welker is a risky move.  Welker may not be the type of guy that Belichick traditionally operates with.  Last year Welker spoke out against the Patriots and Belichick during his hold out and many including me thought the Patriots would part ways with Welker.  They franchised him last year and Welker responded with another 100+ receiving year.  Now, Belichick, Brady and now Josh McDaniels know how to maintain a roster and they certainly know how to put points up and win football games.  Welker has been the re...
